when more just keep getting abandoned. This story is for them....
What Matters

One day an old man and his grandson were walking along the beach when they
came upon hundreds of starfish which had been washed ashore by a recent
storm. They stood and watched as the starfish struggled and died in the heat
of the sun. It was then that the old man walked over and picked up a nearby
starfish and gently returned it to the sea. Perplexed, his grandson asked
"Grandfather, there are so many starfish dying here - what difference
does it make to save just one?" To which the old man replied, "It
mattered to that one."
